Everything is caused by hormones. Or at least that’s what my normal prenatal class is leading me to believe. Why do pregnant women experience heartburn? Hormones. (More specifically, the increased progesterone and relaxes all smooth muscle such as the esophagus allowing for acid reflux.) Why do pregnant women have to go to the bathroom so much? Hormones, at least at first. Why do pregnant women get wobbly on their feet in the third trimester? Hormones (progesterone again and this time relaxin too).
Maybe the secret to life is that all things are caused by hormones. Why is my sister a fabulous artist? Clearly, it’s hormones. Why did that bird just poop on my shoulder? Maybe it’s hormones. Why do we have an anatomy and physiology test on Monday? Definitely, hormones.
